Robert Peyton, Of Counsel
Robert’s practice focuses on property damage claims, premises liability, insurance coverage, and general insurance defense. He applies his depth of experience and litigation skills to achieve the best possible results for his clients.
Robert has led a private practice defending clients in cases spanning workplace sexual harassment, construction disputes, and regulatory matters involving permitting at chemical production facilities. He previously served as a partner at a New Orleans law firm, where he represented a wide variety of clients in litigation of matters including the defense of auto casualty, premises liability, workers’ compensation, product liability, class action and complex litigation, insurance coverage, medical and legal malpractice, construction, and breach of contract/business claims.
Outside of his law practice, Robert co-founded a non-profit organization, Chef’s Brigade, in April 2020. Chef’s Brigade helped keep restaurants in business during the early days of the pandemic by paying them to cook and deliver meals to first responders such as NOPD districts, New Orleans EMS headquarters, Lambeth House, and others. He currently serves on the board of directors of the organization, which continues to support its community by getting local restaurants involved in feeding people during emergencies.
Inspired by his love of New Orleans cuisine, Robert wrote the Restaurant Insider column monthly for New Orleans Magazine from 2007 until 2020. He also wrote a weekly column, Haute Plates, for the same publisher from 2012 until 2023.
